Get into the habit of giving your bicycle love regularly, and both of you will be happy you did.

Inspecting Your Bicycle
The best defense against loose components is a routine inspection before every ride. Following this tip, you can avoid potential issues before they become safety hazards. I want to give you just what you require—nothing more. I offer some bundled services; a summary is on our website. However, these services are much more focused than a tune-up. My role is to educate and offer suggestions while letting you make the final choice. After all, it is your bicycle.
Do you have a big ride coming up?
Does your bike need a tune-up or repair, and is it stored in the shed? You can feel secure knowing everything on your bike works if you perform a basic tune-up. You can trust my services. As a result of my experience, I can complete the task. I will notify you if your bike will require a more extensive service. I have the tools and practice and have repaired many bicycles.

Keep It Clean
Keeping your bike in pristine condition and clean will extend the life of its moving parts. Your bike may need some service after 25 hours of use. As roads may be scorched with grime due to weather conditions, it is important to clean and maintain your bike on a regular basis.

Proper lubrication improves the performance of all moving parts on and off the road by minimizing needless wear and tear caused by friction.

One of life's greatest pleasures is riding a properly adjusted bike. Silent turning, a quiet chain, and even correctly inflated tires can improve your riding experience, and enjoy each journey.

Tips to remember: A clean bike is a fast bike!

It is important to maintain your bike regularly to avoid possible breakdowns. After winter, at the latest, cyclists must prepare their bicycles for spring.
At that point, you have two options: take the bike to a repair shop or do the necessary repairs yourself. Are you annoyed when the chain and sprockets on your bike make a loud rattling and squeaking noise? Because the lubricant has dried up, you can hear the unpleasant sound of metal rubbing against metal, grime, and sludge.

If exposed to wet conditions and dust, your bicycle's moving components will need cleaning and lubricating. A bicycle has several moving parts that are subject to strong forces. So, be ready to replace components at some point. Keeping your beloved bike clean and properly greased is an intelligent investment.

You can save money by regularly cleaning and lubricating your bicycle drivetrain to prevent it from wearing out.

Maintenance is the key, if you demand peak performance from your equipment.

If you feel like you're not riding as fast as you want to, and you can't figure out why maybe it's your bike.

The expense of replacing wheels, a suspension fork, chain, cassette, crankset, or derailleurs can increase, so keeping these vital components in excellent condition is essential. If your bike is making noise or you don't have time to examine it, bring it to my repair shop. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, ask a friend who is proficient at biking.

The Fix
IMPORTANT STEPS TO TAKE
  1. Clean your bicycle after every ride! Seriously, if you develop just one habit to prolong life. Here are the following maintenance tips.
  2. Clean the bike with a rag and look for signs of wear on the components.
  3. Using a rag and a little degrease, lightly clean the chain, sprockets, and chainrings. When finished, apply lubricant again.
  4. Check the tension on the spokes and make sure there aren't any broken.
  5. Check the fit of the bike's moving parts and joints (levers, pedals, chainrings, seat post, seat, handlebar, stem, and other accessories)
LubricatioN
Even if you don't have time to maintain your bike, keeping the chain clean and lubricated will help it last longer. We recommend using a 'wet lube' on the chain during the winter months. It's a thicker, higher-quality lubricant that lasts longer in the cold. It's best to switch to a viscose' dry lube' in the spring and summer. With any lubrication, it's essential to use it carefully because too much lube attracts dirt (which isn't good!). Finishline Wet and Dry Lubes are our favorites.

To apply:
  • Always start with a clean chain (see above);
  • Hold a rag around the chain and drop chain lube to the chain. Spin the pedals in reverse so that you can cover each section of the chain.
  • Apply a moderate amount of lube to the inside of the chain, again while spinning the pedals in reverse to cover all sections of the chain.
  • Wipe away any excess lube with a rag.
Why should you hire a professional to tune your bicycle?
You should hire a skilled technician to maintain your bicycle. If so, a qualified bike mechanic will give your bike a detailed tune-up using the right tools and techniques to return it to a like-new state.
Maintaining your bicycle's components will extend its lifespan. Consider getting a basic tune-up every two to six months if you pedal your bike daily or once a week. For more info on tune-ups, see our Repair Menu.

Establishing Cost
The majority of bicycle tune-up conversations begin with the question, "How much does it cost?" While this is a legitimate question, an examination will be required to provide an accurate price estimate. It is essential to determine the cost of a tune-up before you can set a reasonable budget. Tuning-up services vary between bicycle repair establishments, which can be difficult.
Some still consider a bicycle to be primarily a "toy," it is a vehicle capable of carrying you with considerable speed. It is crucial for your safety that all of its systems are working correctly, can hold up to the forces of the moving parts will be subjected to, and that the bicycle can stop securely, dependably, and safely.

So before you consider the price tag of the bicycle tune-up, here are some questions you should be asking:
What includes in the bicycle tune-up service?
It can be shocking to hear that a bicycle tune-up costs can add up, especially if someone down the street is offering it for $29.99. But what one shop may call an "$29.99 Tune-Up" to get you in the door, another shop may provide for free as a complimentary "Air & Oil Service." Shops may offer different tiers of tune-ups, so when you are doing a comparison or shopping, make sure you compare comparable services. My bicycle tune-up prices range from a basic tune up service $75 to comprehensive tune up service $100 - and overhaul service up to $220- $250 . I recommend that the specific tune-up is not based on personal preference (ours or yours) but instead dictated by the bike's condition. Our basic bicycle tune-up may not adequately address the needs of a bike that has not being given service and ridden extensively. Offering anything other than the top-level service will not result in a safe operating manner or your satisfaction.
Will I know the total cost of the repair in advance?
Typically, the cost of a bicycle tune-up service reflects only the labor involved. More often than not, doing a tune-up requires replacing worn or damaged parts, and these can quickly add up to as much, or even more, than the tune-up labor itself. Before you authorize any repairs, every bike shop should provide you with an itemized quote based on a physical inspection of your bike.

It may be possible to scale back from the optimal level of service if the quote exceeds your budget or expectations. However, keep in mind that bicycle parts work together in concert, and holding off on replacing certain parts may affect the performance of others. For example, replacing a worn chain without replacing the gear cluster may result in gears skipping; adjusting rim brakes is impossible without truing the wheels.
Of course, there are always unforeseen circumstances or problems after the mechanic has begun a project. It is my commitment to notify you if any additional charges are incurred to complete the repair.
What can I expect after a tune-up is completion?
Suppose you agreed to a level of service appropriate to the condition of your bicycle. In that case, your bike might need some additional adjustments after a comprehensive tune-up. Any full-service tune-up should include a follow-up period during which I can correct or adjust to the original service within 90 days free of charge.
Can the repair be tailored to my specific needs?
A tune-up can be a terrific opportunity to upgrade your bicycle's components or modify its fit or functionality to your current needs. A tune-up service does not include the labor on the removal service and installation of bicycle components.

I am an experienced professional bicycle technician. I should be able to hear your concerns, recommend the complete solution based on your consultation and the physical inspection of the bicycle.
