Take Care of Your Bicycle with a Tune-Up
My turn around time is from the same day to 24 hours.
I understand that you purchased your bike with the intention of enjoying it, not having it stuck in a service center for extended periods. That's why I provide same-day service or aim to complete most services within 24 hours. We offer multiple levels of service.
My service menu comprises a variety of service packages. You can inquire or bring your bike in to get a price estimate for these services. I offer a range of service levels, from basic cleaning and lubrication of your bike's moving parts to a comprehensive disassembly and rebuild, tailored to your specific needs. These prices cover my labor only. Several of these services may necessitate the purchase of additional parts, which I will discuss with you before proceeding with the work. |
How do I know when it's time to service my bike?
When you first acquire a new bike, it typically glides along smoothly, but as the years go by, wear and tear start to manifest, leading to minor or even significant issues. This is especially critical for individuals who rely on their bicycles as their daily commuting means to work; they need a reliable bicycle. Certainly, it's tempting to overlook minor hiccups with your bike, like slightly misadjusted gears or brakes. However, neglecting these issues can compromise your riding comfort and, over time, potentially escalate into more severe problems if left unaddressed. If you start to hear any sounds beyond the gentle whir of the wind as you pedal, it's a clear signal that your bike is in need of some attention. Other telltale signs include squeaky brakes, clicking or squeaking noises, or struggling with loose and finicky gear shifting. Regular maintenance and addressing these issues promptly can go a long way in keeping your bike reliable, safe, and comfortable for your daily commute or leisurely rides. So, when you notice these signs, don't delay in giving your trusted bicycle the care it deserves. How often should I service my bike?
Most bicycles require servicing every 25 hours of use. If you exercise for about three hours a week, I recommend having your bike serviced at least every two months. A tune-up begins with a thorough cleaning of the bike and its transmission. Servicing at this interval will allow you to ride more smoothly and contribute to making parts of your bike more durable. Keeping your bike in good condition with regular maintenance is essential to ensure optimal performance and your safety on the road. It not only extends the lifespan of components but also ensures that critical elements like brakes and gears function effectively. So, if you enjoy your bike rides, remember to schedule these regular check-ups to keep rolling smoothly. Even my car doesn't need service that often! What's up with that?
It's true that bicycles and cars have different maintenance needs due to their design and exposure to the elements. Bicycles are generally more exposed to the environment, and as a result, their components can be more vulnerable to wear and tear. Here are some reasons why bikes may require more frequent maintenance compared to cars:
In contrast, cars have more extensive and complex internal systems, but they are designed to handle a wider range of environmental conditions. However, they still require regular maintenance, just on a different scale and with a different focus. Nothing is broken. Why would you need to do the service?
Even when nothing appears to be broken on your bicycle, regular servicing is still important for several reasons:
When is the best time to do the service?
The best time to service a bicycle can depend on a variety of factors, including how often you ride, the type of riding you do, and the specific components of your bike. However, there are some general guidelines you can follow:
